The ancient Mesopotamians possessed polytheistic beliefs, meaning they believed in multiple Gods. People in ancient Mesopotamia believed in Gods, Goddesses, daemons and monsters. They believed that the Gods controlled every aspect of their lives. Each city was protected by a specific God in which they worshipped whilst demons were created by the gods with human bodies and animal or bird heads and Monsters were created from both animals and birds. In Ancient Mesopotamia, the God Ea is one of the most powerful Gods in Mesopotamia along with Anu and Enlil
